Labour and birth doula services.

Whether you wish to birth your baby in a hospital, a birth centre or at home, Fern & Nettle Doula will be there for you. I work with clients throughout the Waterloo Region and beyond!

Your birth doula care starts with prenatal preparation. We will discuss your preferences, hopes and worries regarding the birth (and work on creating your birth plan), practice comfort measures, talk about local resources, exercise, diet, etc. We will meet 2-3 times and have plenty of opportunities to touch on any issues that might arise and help you plan for the postpartum period.

During labour you will receive physical support (such as birthing position suggestions and coaching, gentle massage, hot/cold therapy and more), help with understanding information, emotional support for you and your partner, and more. Every birth is unique and so are the needs of every client!

After the birth, I will visit you at home for a couple of hours (additional postpartum support is available) to talk about the birth, your physical and emotional recovery, discuss newborn care, transition to a life with a baby... My goal as a doula is to support you in a way you and your family needs the most. I cannot wait to work with you!

Labour and birth doula services

Full Labour and Birth Support Package

- Complementary consultation, half an hour long (virtual);

- 2 prenatal meetings, 1-2 hours long, in the comfort of your home;

- 1 additional meeting, either prenatal or postpartum (2 hours) - you choose what you need!;

- Phone/ text/ e-mail support during the day until 38 weeks of pregnancy;

- 24/7 phone support during the on-call period (from 38 weeks gestation until birth);

- Support during labour and birth;

- 1-2 hours of support immediately after birth;

- 1 postpartum visit at your home, 1-2 hours long.

Investment: sliding scale $1100-$1400, paid in 2-3 instalments (services remain the same regardless of the chosen price).

Premium Doula Support Package

- Complementary consultation, half an hour long (virtual);

- 2 prenatal meetings, 1-2 hours long, in the comfort of your home;

- 1 additional meeting, either prenatal or postpartum (2 hours) - you choose what you need!;

- Phone/ text/ e-mail support during the day until 38 weeks of pregnancy;

- 24/7 phone support during the on-call period (from 38 weeks gestation until birth);

- Support during the entire labour and birth;

- 1-2 hours of support immediately after birth;

- Additional 12 hours of postpartum support at your home (in 3-4 hour increments).

Investment: sliding scale $1500-$1700, paid in 2-3 instalments (services remain the same regardless of the chosen price).
